The direct resistance heating of electric heaters requires heating elements made of special alloy materials or non-metallic materials, and then heat energy is generated by the heating elements and transmitted to the heated medium by means of radiation, convection and conduction.
For electric heaters, the heated medium and the heating element are divided into two parts, so the variety of the heated medium is generally not limited, and the operation is simple. Only the material used for the heating element has high requirements. Under normal circumstances, it must meet the requirements of large resistivity, small temperature coefficient of resistance, small deformation at high temperature and no easy embrittlement.
Therefore, metal materials such as iron-aluminum alloy, nickel-chromium alloy, or non-metallic materials such as silicon carbide and molybdenum disilicide are often used as heating element manufacturing materials in electric heaters, and the working temperature between materials and materials is also different.
