At this time, operations such as hoisting and welding cannot be performed on the electric heating cable to avoid damage to it. The pipeline where the electric heating cable is to be installed should be inspected in advance to ensure that there are no burrs, leakage or leakage. The surface of the pipeline should be flat and free of protrusions.
1. Installation steps
Self-limiting temperature electric heating cable (hereinafter referred to as heating cable) should be distributed according to the length of the pipeline, and its own length is longer than that of the heating pipeline, but it cannot exceed the maximum allowable length of the design.
When laying the heating cable, it should be as close as possible to the surface of the pipe or container. When fixing it, use polyester tape or aluminum foil tape to fix it. Never use filaments for binding. The distance between the tapes should be less than 30mm. If there are flanges, valves and other protruding parts on the line, care should be taken to protect them. It can be cross-overlapped, but try not to distort it. If we want to enhance the heating effect, we can add a layer of aluminum foil tape to the outside of the heating cable to achieve the purpose.
After the heating cable is installed, it is necessary to conduct an insulation test, generally to measure the resistance value between it and the pipe or container, which should not be less than 20MΩ, otherwise the cause should be found.
2. Connection of heating cable to power box
If the heating cable is installed in a flammable and explosive place, it must be equipped with an explosion-proof power junction box. The length of the spliced joint must not be less than 30mm, and the length of the welded joint must not be less than 10mm.
3. Insulation and waterproofing
This is also very important work and should be done in strict accordance with the requirements, especially if it is installed outdoors. Install the insulation layer and waterproof layer, which can reduce the chance of damage to the heating cable, and can prevent the intrusion of rainwater and maintain the heat preservation ability of the heating cable.
