Installation of accessories for electric heat tracing
1. Select accessories according to the requirements of the design drawing.
2. The sealing ring used should be matched with the heating cable.
3. The power supply junction box is as close as possible to the power supply end of the pipeline line.
4. Prepare the wiring port and install it according to the accessories installation instructions.
5. Each wire end should reserve a small section of hot wire for future maintenance.
Inspection and testing of electric heat tracing
1. Check whether the surface of the heating cable is damaged;
2. Inspect whether all accessories are installed completely;
3. Use a shaker to shake one end of the line at 2500VDC, and the insulation resistance should be above 20 megohms. Note that the shaking test time should be more than one minute, and the power supply cable should be shaken to the metal shield;
4. Record the shaking test results on the installation record sheet.
Insulation installation for electric heat tracing
1. The material, thickness and specifications of the thermal insulation layer used are in accordance with the requirements of the design drawings;
2. Pipes and insulation materials must be dry during construction;
3. A waterproof cover should be added to the insulation layer;
4. During the construction of the thermal insulation layer, damage to the heating cable should be avoided;
5. The insulation test of the electric heating cable should be carried out immediately after the construction of the insulation layer;
6. Add a label to the insulation layer to indicate “there is an electric heating system inside”, and also indicate the location of all accessories;
Electric heat tracing adopts appropriate thermostat according to the design requirements, and should reach waterproof and explosion-proof grades, and supply power according to the required voltage. The electric heat tracing should be close to the pipeline and away from the heating cable, and at least 1m away from the heat sink. The sensor should be installed in a hidden place to avoid damage, and the thermostat should be properly adjusted.
