The WNH trace heater is used for freeze prevention and temperature maintenance on vessels, pipes, valves, etc. It may be immersed in fluids. For use in aggressive en[1]vironments (e.g. in chemical or petrochemical industry), the trace heater is coated with a special chemically resistant outer jacket (fluoropolymer).

3.What is self regulating trace heating?
Self limiting / self regulating heating tape adjusts heat output to equal the heat loss from the pipe work. As pipe temperature falls the electrical conductivity of the semi-conductive core increases causing the tape to increase heat output.
4.How does self regulating trace heating work?
Self regulating systems work by: ①Attaching the heating cable in a straight line underneath the insulation on the pipe. ②Applying heating power in relation to the ambient temperature to maintain a holding temperature above freezing.
5.Does self regulating heat trace need a controller?
Although it’s called “self-regulating,” the cable will not turn itself completely on or off. So, we do recommend that a controller or thermostat of some sort to be used with this type of heating wire.
